David Mccormack, the center of FC Bayern Munich, is on the move. The former Alba player joined Bayern on a short-term deal to replace the injured Johannes Voigtmann. McCormack failed to deliver consistent performances for Bayern. Meanwhile, Jo Voigtmann returned to the court after a minor knee injury. Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz is interested in McCormack, as are other Euroleague clubs. McCormack averaged 16 minutes of playing time in the Easycredit Basketball-Bundesliga, scoring around eight points and five rebounds per game. In the Euroleague, he played 12 minutes per game, averaging four points and two rebounds. Bayern have two other centers, Wenyen Gabriel and Leon Kratzer, on their roster. Additionally, injured forward Elias Harris (tendon injury) may return to the team by the end of the year. Harris can also play as a center. Coach Gordon Herbert has given power forward Oscar da Silva more opportunities to play at center, with success. McCormack was not in the Bayern squad for their win over Rasta Vechta (77:74) on Sunday, after playing just nine minutes in Paris three days earlier. According to Chema de Lucas, McCormack is currently seeking Ruandan citizenship and is already in the preliminary squad for the World Cup qualifiers in November. Apparently, Baskonia will only sign McCormack if he obtains the Ruandan passport.
